Growing up, even at a young age, my artistic side has always shown through and has been a strong passion of mine that came naturally, whether I was coloring, drawing, using clay, or painting. It wasn’t until high school that I found painting was an amazing talent I possessed that I loved to do for hours on end, transforming images and ideas in my mind into colorful illustrations on canvas. My skills progressed as I painted my way through advanced level art classes in high school, and in my senior year after attending a “National Portfolio Day”, I was nominated for an art scholarship to James Madison University located in Virginia where I am from. Realizing I wanted to do something more, today, I attend Coastal Carolina University by Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I am majoring in Marine Science, hoping to one day work out in the field and also with animals, still continuing with my love for creating art. My style of art embodies bright varieties of color, a natural earthy feel, and expression of Surrealism, using acrylic, my medium of choice. Besides the intense love and appreciation I have for my hobby of painting and drawing, in my free time I also love to be outdoors, hiking, swimming, kayaking, wake boarding, laying on the beach in the hot sun or just appreciating mother nature. I can never pass up a good concert or opportunities for a great time with close friends. If there’s one thing I can express to people through art, it would be that anyone can be a great artist. It doesn’t matter how technical your skill is, but what matters is the meaning you want to show to the viewers of your art, the emotion you project, and how you feel putting what’s in your mind into a visual form. You will surprise yourself on how quickly you progress and where your imagination will take you from each work you create. Happy Painting!
